I shot the pictures above this weekend in Fremantle with my Canon EOS 350, Polarisation filter and using my Nissin Flash, which works extremely good i would say. Even if its like 15+ years old. The top picture has the flash light coming from the left side 2 meters from the camera. Which gives a little surreal light coz the sun is coming from the right side.

The next picture has the flash light coming from the right (duh). But the cool thing about this is that it is taken during the day. It's behind a building so its pretty shadowy back there. The colors got really good to. I'm proud :p. We went a whole gang to Freo to shoot stuff for our coming assignments. We also had lunch there and looked around in some stores and we even had time to go to the Shipwreck museum. Thanks to Kat and Nicky for posing in the pics.

"A slice of ice in your heart"

I love her embarressed look, and i tried to get the colors very pastell-ish, which i think i succeded in doing pretty ok. Started on it in Hong Kong when i was sitting in the Pacific Coffe and wanted to make something happy-looking haha.

Today, was a great day for inspiration! I had my Creativity; Theory, Practice and history class. First we had the tutorial where we talked about Frank Gehry, an architect we saw a documentary about last week which also was really inspiring. It really opened my eyes up to architecture, again, and i felt that one day i have to take a architecture class or just design a building somewhere :D. The reason why, is that Frank Gehry, who designed the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao (in spain) e.g. didn't seem to be limited in his designs by the safety aspects or how materials can bend and so on. He "just" made his designs, starting with a drawing, and then moving on to a model , and then he had this team of people who had to worry about what was gonna be on the inside. Almost like designing a jet plane coz he loves to work with metal in many different ways. So, step one, look up Frank Gehrys work, its amazing and if you can, try to watch the documentary Sketches of Frank Gehry by Sydney Pollack and i promise you, you will get inspired.

Anyway, back to today. Later on during the lecture, we had a guest lecturer; John Harman. Author, Scriptwriter and Ghostwriter. Who was really inspiring as well. He talked about where and how he gets his inspiration and how he processes it. He always walks around with a tape recorder and record everything that could inspire him someday. And that is also a really important thing for me. I love to find little details everywhere, which maybe its not obvious if u don't look carefully and fortunately i always carry my notebook around where i can write or draw the stuff down. Which is really helpful later on coz i have a lousy memory heh.

So think of this; where from do you get your inspiration from, and how do u channel it into something new? I get my inspiration from, well anything actually; movies, comics, people, places etc. But i try to read as much as i can, except that I'm really bad at taking time to read books. But i read a lot on the computer, and it doesn't matter what you read as long as you read something, whatever makes u going right? I channel it through my pictures or drawings. Most of the time to get my feelings out or when i want to create emotions in whoever is watching the things. I don't know why, but that is really important to me, to evoke emotions in other people. I guess everybody got different reasons of why they are creative. What is your reason?

I found this really interesting link today. Or first i have to explain something. I'm really fascinated about really old looking library's like the ones you always see in movies. Ive never been in one except the ones in Sweden and they aren't so exhilarating. So today i found this link, some of these libraries are really amazing coz they look so old and magical in a sense. Imagine sitting in a library like that and reading a really old dusty book about..errrr...i don't know :p anything i guess? There are even two Swedish libraries on that site, the Bernadotte Library and the Riksdagen Library. But i don't think you can gain access to them if u don't work there or something...

Player 3 has entered the game

Congratulations to Danne and his girlfriend Sara for giving birth to Ronja. Must feel great and so nervous at the same time, i can never imagine. Ronja entered this world at 28th of February 2008. Welcome to the club Ronja, best wishes to Danne and Sara, hope the the upbringing (?) will be as smooth as possible haha :D I wish i could have been there and taken some pictures for you, anyway, good luck again :) Geesh, time goes by fast, dont it?


A little something i put together, started with it back home in Sweden before i came here, cut the read craters from a magazine and then drew around it, scanned it and played around in PS.

The Tree

Three of my latest pics im gonna use for the Images and Pleasure class. We are going to shoot five "Still-life" photos. Im gonna take the next two next week. We are using these really old cameras where u have the hoody on urself. Im talking ancient cameras here. The format is called 5x4, i think its bigger than medium format cameras? We are also using Canon 5d with Tilt & Shift lens, which allows the user to tilt or shift the lens at different directions but still remain still? Does it makes sense? i guess not but its cool.

One great thing has happened, one extremely great. i bought a pair of INLINES! YES! I found back to them. Inlines was my favorite sport when i was younger, i just loved to roll around on them and feel the wind :p haha. But seriously. After i quit them when i was 17 i think, i haven't really found a sport that i really enjoy, except riding my Ripley, who btw is located in the northern part of Sweden right now coz i had to sell it to some truck driver who wanted to give his son a nice birthday present :). Ripley, is for u that don't know, my last bike :p And anyway, i have inlines again which i bought from Joakim, and a big thanks goes out to him coz i feel that i found a part of myself again! And i hope you get a nice stay in Scotland!

And oh yeah another funny thing. There is a new program on the swedish channel ZTV, called Uppladdat. They show different funny and weird videoclips from youtube and the rest of the web and then talk about them. And, coz i know one of the people who works with that (sahar), i could get one of my videoclips i shot in Cottlesloe last semester, IN THE OPENING TITLES of the show :D oh yeah, but you have to look really fast to see it haha but its there alright! "Adventures on The Rhine"

Part 1

Yesterday night i spent some hours reading about the movie called The Fountain. If you havent seen it you have to. It's amazing, different, both visually and storywise.

The Fountain is a 2006 American science fiction/fantasy film directed by Darren Aronofsky that follows three interwoven narratives that take place in the age of conquistadors, the modern-day period, and the spiritual world of the human soul. The film stars Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz, whose characters' romance exists in all three time periods. The Fountain explores the themes of love and mortality, drawing influences from Mayan mythology. The film is framed with visual language by using transition scenes, light, and shapes. - Wikipedia

I love Darren Aronofskys movies, coz they make u think. If you havent seen his first two movies look up Pi and Requiem For a Dream. Pi is about this number theorist Maximillian Cohen who has a theory that everything in nature can be understood through number and if u graph the numbers in the right way patterns will emerge. .

And anyway, drifting away there for a sec. Ehm back to the Fountain, the movie for me is about the search for love and the search for "god". So i was reading about that and every theory behind it and the making of the movie. And from that it just kept on going, coz i kept finding these things that sounds interesting; Tree of Life, Padmasana, Kabbalah, Ex Nihilo, Biossphere 2, Tree of knowledge...

And on and on. Thats the best thing about reading stuff on Wiki is that u keep finding other things and you learn more and more. One of the biggest reasons i can sit with it for so long is that its also very inspiring. So you get both the knowledge and u get inspired, a win-win situation haha. I love to learn stuff like that.

The only sad part is that i sometimes find it really hard to discuss all those unusual stuff with people. but the most important thing is that i know what it means to me i guess, but sometimes u just wanna get it out there coz "stuff" gets heavy to you in the end.

State of Flux

I have finally finished my little masterpiece haha. I started on it back home in Sweden before i left to Hong Kong and got it finished in HK. Oh btw, im back from Hong Kong aswell, back in good old Australia...

I arrived last friday but had to stay at two hotels during the weekend coz i couldnt get the key from the housing office to my room coz i arrived so late. During the weekend i just relaxed and watch movies, ate and got used to the heat over here. I also met Joakim and we went to the cinema to watch The Mist which was really good actually but very very tragic.

Then last monday i arrived in the village and got my rooom, i now live in Unit 14, room 6. Its a one floor house which is located closer to phoebes house, but ehh shes not there so .. it doesnt matter haha :(. *misses*

Anyway, my new rooomies are really nice, we are awaiting one more to come and then its a full house. In the week now i have gotten settled here, bought some new basic stuff, alot of food and a rice cooker :D I havent tried it yet but it seems good, i will post a Rice-update later on :p

We have also celebrated Naufals birthday last tuesday, and we gonna celebrate him some more in this weekend coming up. Today me and soe roomies are going for the late night shopping, yahooO!

How was Hong Kong you may wonder? Well, two words can summarise HK: Compact Living :D
Or Compact Living, with Humungous Shoppingmalls :D CLWHS!

They have really big shopping malls, but also really small ones where the fitting rooms are not bigger than 50x50cm :O. It's like a new kind of sport trying to try on clothes in those fitting room :D Extreme Fitting! ......which, if you are swedish, sounds REALLY wrong...

But other than that, i LOVE Hong Kong. Everything is so easy, so easy to get around and so cheap, everything is open until 10 or 11pm and they have awesome food and ten times the better clothingstores than Aus. And the most important (except Phoebe of coz) is that they have awesome prices on the Dvds :D :D

One thing in HK i miss though, is that they dont have so many parks or grassfields like here in Aus or Sweden. But i love big cities and skyscrapers so i dont mind so much but as the nature-lover-hater i am i i need some nature once in a while. Preferably nature without pollen :).....or mosquitos.. and ants, i dont like ants, damn little things. And snakes!! gah!

Me and Pheebs almost spent a month living together with her mother and i really enjoyed it, of coz we had are tough times coz we spent so much time together all day but most of the time it was really good. We also went to many dinners with her relatives which was fun, very easy going. I was kinda nervous about that but it was just fun :)

I also got to see Pheebs school and even had a class with her and her friends. The class was something about chinese journalism, and it was held in Chinese also haha so i didnt listen so much but it seemed like fun. I did some drawing instead and listened to my Ipodu.

Some days when Phoebe was in school i spent my mornings in Pacific Coffe. I love that place, they serve really good coffe and toast sandwiches and everything u want in the morning. I often sat there for hours and did some drawing, listened to music and read different magazines, mostly Time which i enjoy reading alot becoz of their objective newsarticles from around the world.

After that i usually either met Phoebe somewhere or did some exploration of my own. Phoebe-chan lived really close to the harbour on the Kowloon side so you could walk there in five minutes and then see the entire Victoria Harbour on the other side on Hong Kong Island. Amazing view.

We also went to a big temple, a beautiful chinese garden, the Giant buddha on lantau island, The Peak (where we had a delicious dinner in a japanese restaurant where we could see down on hong kong island and visited madame taussauds wax museum which was really fun) and many many shopping places haha. On valentines day, which was my favourite day there :D we went to Ocean Park which is a big themepark some 45 minutes from Kowloon. I have a thing towards themeparks but this experience with my crazy little pheebs was really fun, thx babe :)

I also had to experience atleast one Cinematic Adventure. But we actually saw three movies on the big screen; Cloverfield, Sweeney Todd and Cj7. Cloverfield = AMAZING THE BEST CINEMATIC ADVENTURE EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD WOW WOW SUPER DUPER, Sweeney Todd = It's Tim Burton and Johnny Depp and no further explanation is needed of coz its good. CJ7 = the new Stephen Chow movie is funny as all Chow movies but it was more of a kids movie, buut highly recommended anyway.

Im thinking about applying to a school in Hong Kong, and yes that means i would move there and live there instead of here, Australia. i wanna go to Polytechnic University in Hong Kong which is supposed to be one of the best Design Unis in HK. There i wanna study their Design bachelor and become an Art Director, which would give me more choice when later choosing my occupation coz then i could do everything and a little more in that business. Ive just gotten the reply from CSN if they give government funding to that school and yes they do! Woho! That also means i would live with Pheebs and eventually her mother if we didnt got our own place, or we all three get a bigger place together. But first i have to survive this semester...

I'm standing in front of a great blue/white moon, on a cliff above a deep green pine forest. I stare into the moon and feel so incredibly calm.

I dreamed this scenario a week ago or something, really fascinating, I felt so calm when i was standing there and the moon was so close to me, it almost touched the tree tops and the light from the moon was almost pulsating.

Ive had so much time recently just to think about, well everything i guess. One thing i thought about was about people who are happy with there situation in life. And with that i mean people who are satisfied and have settled down in their life. People who live in the countryside for example, or in a really small town and just feel really pleased about life. I really dont mean anything negative about that, I wish i someday gonna experience that feeling, but right now i just feel so restless, like i have an entire world to discover.

Christmas was spent with my family and cousins, we had a really nice time and super delicious food and bad christmas present jokes to tease my youngest cousin Bea haha, she couldnt wait to open all the presents and we just tried to delay it to tease her mouhaha :p Its a hard knock life when ur small.

I got some really good presents, a shirt, a painting, some movies and pencils. I also got a really good present fron Phoebe. She sent a box loaded with funny stuff; an awesome scarf, a book she made herself with cute stuff about us aaw, a bamboo lantern, a kung-fu guy key ring, a really cool bag and a "I heart my penis"-chewing gum bwahahaha :D Excellent, exactly what i need!

I sent her a parcel too containing the new fixed version of the teddy bear i used in my pictures, that i sowed together all by myself, some Swedish candy in a homemade candy bag, a little Christmas book with stuff about us inside , some cute Christmas decorations and a parcel i painted on. I also snuck in a little cool santa inside the teddy bear haha.

New years eve was spent with my friends, first me, Helen, Lopez, Max and Richie made dinner together and then we played Wii and drank alot. Then at eleven we went into the city to go to Emilias party where we watched the fireworks from Kungsholmsbron. Then after that i had a little mishap involving throwing up, it wasn't pleasant. But overall, it was awesome :D

Start of this post with some newly edited pictures from this semester. The first one is taken a few weeks ago here in my house, Phoebes old chopped up teddybear infront of my grandparents old draw, mirror and small things. The second ones are from the shotI had with Sandy. It was for my latest Studio Work assignment but I couldnt use the pics unfortunatly coz my borrowed Metz flash didnt work properly, but they made pretty good use for my portfolio anyway.

The desert pictures are from The Pinnacles trip me and some friends went on a couple of months ago and the last one is just a random pic i took in school.

So whats up now? Im going to Hong Kong in january :D YAY! To visit Phoebe for a couple of weeks and go directly to Perth from there. Its gonna be suuuuperfun :D

And now? Im broke, trying to get a half decent job and make it through christmas and news years eve. Yikes!

The struggle continues

EDIT: This pic is from a long walk i had in Stockholm with Emilia. We walked from Kungsholmen to Södermalm where we found a pretty ok libanese (or italian) Cafe where we could spend a few hours talking about everything. After that we walked back but took a different route. We walked by Gamla Stan but went where on the bridge where the trains are going between T-centralen and Gamla Stan. Dont walk there often at all so it was pretty nice. We also discovered that someone had posted like pages from his or her diary of some sort on an electric box, like a physical blog in the real world? Pretty interesting, if i had the time i would have read more but it was some weird stuff in there...

Make time fly

The above pictures are from my first project in Photo Work. Me and Marcus went to the Airport(s), the domestic and the international one to take some good pictures for the assignment. You rarely see pictures taken on airports today because of the tight security airports have after 9/11. They even followed us and stared at us during the time we where there but never stopped us. I have finally gotten time to edit some of the pictures from there.

This picture above is from Perth and it's just a random building, but it's my favorite random building in Perth. :)

Well, the semester is over and I'm back in Sweden. Felt kinda sad coming here. The first thing I see when i land in Sweden is the darkness and the crappy weather. Hurray for Scandinavia!

The second thing I notice is how quiet Sweden is. 400 people are standing in line waiting for the passport control. It's almost dead quiet, except a Finnish person talking with a really loud "raspig" voice, you know, how all Finnish people talk :p. Some swedish guy is trying to say something to his girlfriend, he whispers. Another person is talking to his wife, he talks really quiet and you can see on his face that he dont want to disturb anyone. A Thai woman tries to say something to her Swedish husband, unhearable. And it continues...

Something else I have noticed that I have written about earlier. I find it really funny that so many tourist say that Swede's are nice. Yeah many swedes are well-mannered, and yeah a bit nice. But are we actually that nice compared to other countries? Australian people, they are NICE. They are not afraid of talking to strangers on the train/bus, they actually greet you and ask you how's your weekend been, or going to be, when going into stores. Of course many of them don't really care but most of the times it's not about caring or not, it's just in their nature to small talk more than we do.

They actually say "thank you" to the bus driver when they get off. I find that amazing, the bus driver still gets respect for driving people around.

Another thing is that they have cops in every corner, which makes you feel much safer than in Stockholm e.g. We have so few cops in Stockholm that we have to rent the security guys that couldn't become cops. And most of the time they don't even make you feel safe. It also seems like people just have more respect for things, people and places in Australia. I couldn't see much graffiti or vandalism in Perth except the usual small tags on bus chairs people make. But except that, not so much at all in the city.

What went wrong in Sweden that made us so caught up in our own little worlds? Why are we so afraid and what happened to respecting other people?

Just wanted to post these pictures. I have to write an essay that is due tomorrow, mega crap. I have handed in my last two assignments for Studio Work (above) and Photo Work, this is the last week, I only have an exam at november 14th and on nov 20th I'm ocming home!

I will post the Photo Work pics later and give you an update on whats been happening down here.


This is from downtown Perth when me and Zura tested the Metz Flash and took some random pictures.


This next picture, are of three negatives developed with COFFE and LAUNDRY POWER + SOFTENER. Why you may ask. Why not? :D A couple of weeks ago me and Stanley had to try after I found a blog that showed us how to develop the film with those ingredients. The blog actually said that we had to use Washing Soda Crystals and coffe powder. But we couldnt find any Soda Crystals so we tried to find Softener powder, which didnt seem to exist, so we ended up with laundry powder that came with softener. Here is the result:


(this isnt scanned images of the negs, so bare in mind that the negs actually look a bit better than this, amazing that it worked at all though)

I am finally finished with my design for my coming website I'm doing for my Communications-class. Just some small adjustments left. And this is my first attempt in doing a website design for several years , but i'm pretty satisfied anyway :). I tried to make it as simple as possible, didnt want anything fancy for my portfolio-site. Now I just have to create it in Dreamweaver, but thats another story.

Last Friday me and some friends were at Karin's place. She and her friends have an awesome house, with a pool n stuff. Imagine yourself a house in LA or something, with the typical pool everybody swims in, except that nobody was swimming in it..except a pair of flip flops, a plastic duck and a beer bottle.. but anyway!

Its now 6am, time to sleep a few hours and then wake up and write whyy i chose to design my website like i did, and then send it in.

I would love to hear some feedback on the website :)

PS: Kent's new album has arrived! I think it takes a couple of "listen troughs" (?!) before it's great, but it has a lot of good songs on it and a different sound from the last album, I love the synths!

I ordered the Limited Edition-album, it's gonna be fun to see that.. when I get home to Sweden :O
