Don't miss your flight

If anyone was wondering, you caaaan send a letter from abroad to Sweden and not write the country, full name of receiver and make it a little tricky for the postman to see the correct adress, if you would want to :D

Got inspired by Harriet Russels letters she sent to herself in london where she made some very different letter and ways to write the adresses, very funny!

*Just coz I'm paranoid, I blurred the postcode, street adress and surname.

PS: For english readers, "otursnummer" means unlucky number, which is 13 of course.

There will be oil

Phew, finally finished my first oil paintings ever! Not that great but it was fun and quite a challenge!

It's Saturday today and I'm gonna treat myself to doing nothing, well almost anyway. It's really nice spring weather today which made me feel creative, so I'm gonna chillax and work on some drawings and maybe update my homepage! But it's more fun than "work" actually :).

Words that inspire me at the moment:

Mercury, Hennes, Mnemonic, Illusory, Tusen, Nova, Universe.

Close

So, I'm sitting on the plane back from Melbourne, eating a bag of mixed nuts, drinking a ice cold coke and reading a really good mystery comic and realising how much I LOVE to sit on an airplane, eating mixed nuts, drinking a good cold drink while I'm reading a good mystery comic/book. It could be the combination Eating-while-reading also. But I definitely think the airplane has something to do with it also. A friend told me a few months ago that your taste buds reacts different while at that altitude the plane is in, so it could be that?

Oh, and the music plays a part also. It has to be good music you're listening to while ur eating/drinking/reading/flying (EDRF). It's awesome anyway! Especially when the book is like extremely exciting!

Today I went for Joshuas and Lisas graduation ceremoni which was really fun! It lasted pretty long but it was fun to see my friends on stage getting their bachelor degrees (diplomas?). After the ceremoni there was free food and champagne, and lots of it! Free is awesome!

And after Lisa and Joshua had taken a few thousand pictures :D it was time to go for diiiiinner at a Singaporian restaurant. We were like twelve people or something and it was like a big family dinner coz many knew eachother or had friends in common. Really good company and some very inspiring people. It was really cool to meet everyones families also! Congratulations Joshua and Lisa!! :)

What else is new. Yeah I've been to Melbourne! Went with Joshua there to deliver some of my artwork for this years Scanart exhibition and then we also did a lot of shopping and sightseeing. I think we walked a distance of a 1000 BILJON kilometers, something like that. So my feet hurt coz my shoes was worn out, so i bought new ones :p. We also met some of Joshuas friends who was really nice and showed us around half the city. One of them, Benny, knew everything about Melbourne and showed us about EIGHT different bars. Which also was like really hidden and difficult to find for the mainstream tourist.

I love Melbourne. I wanna marry Melbourne and put it in my chest pocket. It's so cool. So much more of everything; culture, people, life, skyscrapers, clothing stores, good food, cafées, comic stores and it's like a car ride to the nearest mountain (with snow)!!

Anyway, everyone here knows how much I've been talking about Melbourne this and Melbourne that :p. (its awesoooooome!! *whispering)

Pics can be found HERE and HERE!

Back in Perth

So I'm back in Perth after an awesome summer in Sweden. Two months sounds like a long time but it's actually a small amount of time to fit in everyone you really wanna meet, so if anyone who reads this which i didn't have time to meet up with, I'm really sorry! But don't worry, or be mad :p, I'll be back in November again :)

What have I done, a bit hard to remember but here goes; I've off course met my darling Caroline a bunch of times. I mostly went there because she had to be a working lady most of the the summer but we had a great time anyway, so I got to be the desperate househusband, except that I wasn't desperate, but we really used the time we had which I'm really happy about. She also came to Stockholm he he heeee :D. I surprised her a bit with going to Hasseludden Yasuragi, a Japanese spa outside Stockholm in the archipelago. We both love Japanese stuff so i think it was a jackpot :p Pics here and here.

It was our first trip together so it was really special for me. First we took the boat from Strömkajen in Stockholm, where almost all the boats to the archipelago leaves from and then after 30 min we arrived at the spa. Which was awesome, I've been there a couple of years ago with some homies but then it wasn't completely finished but now it looked amazing. We just chillaxed there and swam in the hot springs, ate from the fruit buffé, read our nerdy books, ate an awesome Japanese dinner buffé, had drinks from the bar and did a whole lot of walking around in our japanese yukatas, morning robes. :)

I've also helped some friends who's making a feature movie called Shaman for a couple of days with the lighting and other stuff, which was fun and made me wanna go back to making movies again, so I'm thinking of selling my current camera and maybe buy a Canon 500D or a Nikon D5000 so I can shoot some video also coz they can shoot in full HD.

Oh yeah and I helped Niklas to scout some movie locations for a short movie he is working on at the moment and we also had a really nice dinner the night before.

And I also got some time to go to our countryhouse with my dad and I did some fishing, caught three fishes, two Perches and a Pike. But I threw them back coz they were pretty small. I've also met some friends, gone In-door climbing, hanged out with my family, watched a lot of movies, and even gotten some sunlight haha.

Some portfolio news:
Yes, I've finally bought the domain http://martinrinman.com and its up and running since a few weeks back. So take a peak!

I'm probably gonna go to Melbourne at the end of this month to deliver some of my artwork for this years ScanArt exhibition which they got chosen to be apart off :). WohoO! This will be my second exhibition, which is cool, a big step in the right direction I would say.

On the way here I stopped in Bangkok for 18 hours, which would have been awful unless my parents where there at that time. So I took a taxi to their hotel in central Bangkok and got some sleep, then we headed out too Central Plaza for some shopping and food which was really nice. We also met my cousin who we had dinner with and then she took us to the airport to send me off.

After 6½ hours of flight I was back here, got picked up by Joshua and then slept for the rest of the day. That's about it I think?

I've finished my Photomedia Major so I'm gonna study some more painting classes this semester and a photo unit also. I haven't chosen the fourth unit coz i haven't figured out what to study, but I will choose this weekend though.

Laters :)

Homecoming

And just like that I was back home in Sweden again. Feels great to be back. Seems though that I missed the heatwave of the summer when it was 30 degrees here for a while, but it will probably come back soon. Now its sunny but not so warm and the coming days is gonna be rainy. But it's really green here anyway, something I missed seeing because its so dull-green-ish in Perth.

The first weekend I came home I went up to Carolines place in Dalarna where its even more green. Was great seeing her again coz of course, I've totally missed her like craaaaazy. We went to this big party during the national day at her friends parents place where we had a "questionaire-walk" in the forrest, where all the guests tried their best to answer questions no one on earth could know the answers too :p. At least not us. But its more for fun so. Then we started with the drinks and the barbecue which was greeeeeeeat! We had made some thai marinated chicken, sallad with bulgur and Carolines awesome tzatziki. After the dinner the games started, when everyone had become just enough tipsy. The games involved Stövelkastning (throwing a rubber boot over your back), running in slalom with a big tire, running to a big water filled bucket and filling it and then running back with the bottle between your legs to fill another bucket, aiming a long plastic pipe with the pipe held between the legs and aiming it onto a nail stuck on a plank 2 meters up in the air. It was awesomely fun. We were separated in three teams; Yellow, Blue and Orange. And he he, surprisingly (not really), my team won. Which felt great :p I think Carolines team cheated pretty much :D

After the games everyone took place in a big trailer that was pulled by a tractor and we headed to a big Rockabilly party out in a place called Turbo. I've never been to anything like that before so it was really fun. The company was awesome and Carolines friends were really nice. After that us youngsters went home to this couple who had a house close-by and we ended the party there.

Other stuff we did was to make awesome dinners, we painted with acrylic colours, played with the cat Bastien, watched movies and just spent a lot of time together. It's so relaxing to be there and i really feel well when I'm there. <3

Oh yeah, when I arrived in Sweden Lopez picked me up. My parents had no idea that i was coming home so we were gonna surprise them. I let Lopez ring the doorbell and my dad opened the door and Lopez said that he was just gonna leave something there and then I walked out from behind and said that I was also gonna leave something and my dad became really surprised haha and said: But are you here?! ?!? haha. Then i went to my mom who was still sleeping and sat ont he bed next to her and just said Moooooom! and she turned over and said WHAT ARE U DOING HERE U ARE CRAZY!! haha. They were still surprised that i was there a day after.

I also met some friends which is really nice to see again. Now i can't wait until i get home "for real" and can start really living here which i discovered that i really want. There's so much stuff I want to do and experience here that I never had an idea that I wanted before. I know what I need and want more now.

Patience/acceptance

I've noticed two small coincidences, within 24 hours, in Dexter and the anime movie Laputa - Castle in the sky, both leading back to the same TV-show! First I noticed that Sam Trammell who plays Sam Merlotte, the bar owner in True Blood is in Dexter Season 1, which explains a lot because I knew that I had seen him before but not from where. Then, today I noticed that Anna Paquin do the voice of Sheeta in Castle in the sky in the English dub, Paquin is also one of the leads of True Blood! Ding dooong!

I think I'm having a bit of a downfall in my blog posting recently, I don't know what to write any more. It's weird, I don't like it.

The prescription's talking

I've finished my architectural landscape project which you now can see HERE. The pictures are finished but my statement isn't ready yet but will be uploaded to my portfolio later on the coming week. They can be found under "Architectura".

Above pic is about, well, a lot! Mainly inspired by the song Unfinished business by White Lies and my dear sweet Caroline. There's so much stuff on my mind right now and a lot of it concerns the coming..hm, future? I might be thinking to far ahead but there's a lot of planning to do with my exchange to Sweden next year as I'm hoping to take my last semester there. There's also a lot of other stuff I'm probably unneccessarly worrying about.

And on top of that I have 4 big remaining photo and drawing projects to finish in a couple of weeks. Yikes, but it will be alright. Then I will get some peace :) finally. C <3

Watched Star Trek yesterday with Joshua and Marthe. It was AWESOME! Finally, Star Trek is exciting, action filled, well-made and cool again! So people, watch it, even though you havent seen any of it before this is very different from the other ones and still satisfies the fans (at least me).

First step of many

I've put up a temporary portfolio site which you can see HERE.

Only three more weeks left of school now, a bit stressful but soon it'll be over :).
