Swan II

I made it a bit too pretty for my taste. Almost borderlining on "eco-porn" :D. But it's something and I'm quite pleased anyway. It was fun to do something I don't usually do also. Maybe more animals in the future?

My painting class visited the Natural History museum last Friday and I did some sketches in my notebook of the animals they had there. We had an assignment to gather inspiration for our next project so I took heaps of photos also. It's something very intriguing with places like that. So much death but still very beautiful. You learn much also so that's good.

Fever

Finished two more paintings last week. But the other one sucks. This one too but its ok. This oil painting thing is really hard but fun. It's a portrait of my friend Linus. Painted on plywood.

Finally, FINALLY!

I've been waiting for this for several years. But I've been missing it over and over again because I havent been in Sweden or living in a remote location on the countryside. But now. The moment is here, raise the trumpets, throw your graduation ceremony hat, sing hurrah hurrah and press the eject button!

Karin Dreijer Andersson, aka Fever Ray, the worlds greatest musician, is going to play live for me on december 1st! Yeah!! ONLY for me!! Okey that last statement isn't true but it could almost be true, because I'm gonna be so psyched about seeing her playing live I'm gonna be so into IT.

Caroline is a sweetheart and is going with me even though she's not that into them :). She's awesome! ♥♥♥

Fever Ray is playing on the December 1st at Cirkus in Stockholm. Be there or miss out on the greatest event ever since the beginning of MANKIND. Eherm..

Pencil sketch, Ballpoint pen. "Swan".

Well I'm not sure what to write. But I guess I could write about this weird dream I had a few days ago. I had another sleep paralysis dream which was really terrifying. For those who don't know what is it, don't worry, hold your horses, I'm gonna explain it first.

A sleep paralysis is when your mind wakes up from your deep sleep, called REM-sleep. But your body is still in sleep-mode. And when you're sleeping your body is somewhat paralysed to keep you from kicking and playing out all your dreams while lying in bed. But anyway, so your mind wakes up so you can see and hear and everything. It's like being awake, buuuuuuut the terrifying thing is, you cant MOVE! Your paralysed and cant move a muscle. What you can do though, is still be dreaming, hallucinate and everything that involves dreaming. So think about that for a second. Your awake, your dreaming up stuff but you cant move!

So back to my dream. I woke up and I was lying there in bed on my side and I was so certain that someone was behind me. I could here something and in the corner of my eye I saw this short blue-ish over-weight scary looking kid who was slowly moving closer to me. So of course I try to turn over and see what the hell is going on. But my sleeping body wouldn't move a bit and I got terrified and started to panic. I tried to scream but nothing would come out and he got closer and closer. When he was just next to me I started to wake up from the dream but my mind was still in panic-mode so tried to scream and finally I could get out a big NOOOO!! (but in Swedish) and at that moment I could also turn over and saw that there was nothing there, of course.

The Second phase

"2a Fasen" - Illustrated by hand, coloured digitally.

Don't miss your flight

If anyone was wondering, you caaaan send a letter from abroad to Sweden and not write the country, full name of receiver and make it a little tricky for the postman to see the correct adress, if you would want to :D

Got inspired by Harriet Russels letters she sent to herself in london where she made some very different letter and ways to write the adresses, very funny!

*Just coz I'm paranoid, I blurred the postcode, street adress and surname.

PS: For english readers, "otursnummer" means unlucky number, which is 13 of course.

There will be oil

Phew, finally finished my first oil paintings ever! Not that great but it was fun and quite a challenge!

It's Saturday today and I'm gonna treat myself to doing nothing, well almost anyway. It's really nice spring weather today which made me feel creative, so I'm gonna chillax and work on some drawings and maybe update my homepage! But it's more fun than "work" actually :).

Words that inspire me at the moment:

Mercury, Hennes, Mnemonic, Illusory, Tusen, Nova, Universe.

Close

So, I'm sitting on the plane back from Melbourne, eating a bag of mixed nuts, drinking a ice cold coke and reading a really good mystery comic and realising how much I LOVE to sit on an airplane, eating mixed nuts, drinking a good cold drink while I'm reading a good mystery comic/book. It could be the combination Eating-while-reading also. But I definitely think the airplane has something to do with it also. A friend told me a few months ago that your taste buds reacts different while at that altitude the plane is in, so it could be that?

Oh, and the music plays a part also. It has to be good music you're listening to while ur eating/drinking/reading/flying (EDRF). It's awesome anyway! Especially when the book is like extremely exciting!

Today I went for Joshuas and Lisas graduation ceremoni which was really fun! It lasted pretty long but it was fun to see my friends on stage getting their bachelor degrees (diplomas?). After the ceremoni there was free food and champagne, and lots of it! Free is awesome!

And after Lisa and Joshua had taken a few thousand pictures :D it was time to go for diiiiinner at a Singaporian restaurant. We were like twelve people or something and it was like a big family dinner coz many knew eachother or had friends in common. Really good company and some very inspiring people. It was really cool to meet everyones families also! Congratulations Joshua and Lisa!! :)

What else is new. Yeah I've been to Melbourne! Went with Joshua there to deliver some of my artwork for this years Scanart exhibition and then we also did a lot of shopping and sightseeing. I think we walked a distance of a 1000 BILJON kilometers, something like that. So my feet hurt coz my shoes was worn out, so i bought new ones :p. We also met some of Joshuas friends who was really nice and showed us around half the city. One of them, Benny, knew everything about Melbourne and showed us about EIGHT different bars. Which also was like really hidden and difficult to find for the mainstream tourist.

I love Melbourne. I wanna marry Melbourne and put it in my chest pocket. It's so cool. So much more of everything; culture, people, life, skyscrapers, clothing stores, good food, cafées, comic stores and it's like a car ride to the nearest mountain (with snow)!!

Anyway, everyone here knows how much I've been talking about Melbourne this and Melbourne that :p. (its awesoooooome!! *whispering)

Pics can be found HERE and HERE!
