Alla vill ha hela världen

Clouds clouds clouds.

Today i finally did my presentation for my Landscape class. I hate doing presentations so i was a bit (very) nervous but it went alright even though i had to do it backwards because my teacher wanted to see my comparison between two contemporary photographers (Martin Parr and Walter Niedermayr) where i claimed that on an artistic level, Niedermayr was so much more satisfying than Parrs work because he makes more out of his pictures using montage, better composition and uses the existent lighting very good. His photographs almost becomes paintings in a way. Parr on the otherhand takes photographs with a "snap-shot" feel where i claimed that they could've been taken by anyone there in that particular situation of the time even though they are highly satirical and critical against mass tourism, consumerism and the middle class and food! And then I talked about the ongoing debate about The Tourist vs. The Traveller (which has been going on since man started to travel and take vacations; is there a necessary distinction between the two? Do they experience the landscape differently from eachother? etc etc) but i was actually gonna talk about that first so i got all confused and lost my focus a bit and missed a few points but rounded it up quiet nicely i think anyway :) Buuut, now I'm just rambling on and on about stuff i could talk about just for fun now when the presentation is over.

The best thing about the Landscape photo class or other classes also i guess, is that it's very interesting to know certain backgrounds and styles of different photographers and where they came from and thought about society, history and everything else. Makes you wonder a bit about your own life, where u come from and what you can produce from your experiences and viewpoints in your life. You learn how to pick up little pieces of information during class that can inspire you and then when you know a bit about the background of different styles and try them on and eventually find something that suits you and develop your own style from that. This of course, applies to any learning faculty and is nothing new to the world, it just struck me that i kinda enjoy the classes that I'm taking even though they can be very boring sometimes when its so much information you think your head is going to explode like in that Scanners-movie.

.....KapoOOOoOOoOW!!! *bloodsplatter on wall*

Your head caught in a waking dream

Today we had some real estate people here to take pictures of the place for new investors as our building is for sale. It doesn't affect us though because we have a contract until December and then we have to see what happens.

Yesterday me and Stanley were in Subiaco to take some random pictures. We decided to also shoot a small assignment for ourselves and we picked the theme "clouds" just for fun and to have at least three pictures with clouds someway. But I think we both forgot a little bit about it after a while and we started shooting other stuff mostly :). But i got some i could post another time.

We tried to get lost in Subiaco coz its then when you can find the most interesting places and we found a really cool alley where we both got some really good shots. We also ate at this awesome café. I had a four meat roll sandwhich with extra mayo and avocado :D. Four diff meats! :O
It was goooooood!

Beats for you

I started on a drawing to Carro, my support and biggest inspiration in life. Even though she's on the other side of the world right now she's still there for me in every way. I'm not that good at writing really really personal stuff here but this is special, and she is special and means so much to me. Soooo many thanks to her :) <3

Another person i wanna give prooooOOops to is my friend Tommy. We went to school together and studied Film & Video in Molkom a few years ago but we havent talked so much lately unfortunately. But today when i checked my mail i had gotten a birthday present from him! Out of the blue! He'd sent a manga book called "Manga Bible" which illustrates the entire bible with manga illustrations, which is pretty interesting and fun even if ur not religious! Big surprise :) thanks a lot!

And this part terrifies me so

^ This and last week sketches from my notebook for class. Yes I now roll with two Moleskines. We have small homework's every week for my Intro to drawing class, apart from the stuff we do in class when we paint/draw the models posing for us which i can upload some other day. First we had to do some sketches of feet and hands and then two self-portraits by looking into the mirror and draw which is harder than it looks like.

Hmm, what else is new. Waiting for my new laptop to arrive, which should be next week someday. And what else, not much is really happening right now, im so sick of school, again. Sooo to try and not to think about school I try to take every free minute to be creative, play videogames, use internet and watch stuff. But it's good for my schoolwork aswell coz i get inspired for it and right now im on a creative spree which feels good, keeps me focused also.. Huuu, it's hard sometimes when ur missing everyone and everything back home so much, you tend do space out from time to time..

I got a parcel from my parents earlier this week. They sent me Bilar ( the sour edition), Tutti Frutti candy, Earl Grey Deluxe tea, a happy birthday-card aaand.....Panodil! Arent they nice :).

Come here sparrow

I am officially 25. Last Friday we and some friends celebrated my coming of old age with Asian cuisine, wine and wii. It was a really nice evening with some close friends and a lot of food and cake.

And I've also treated myself with a really nice gift that I really need; a new computer! I was struggling to make a choice between a Mac Mini or a new pc laptop and eventually it came down to what I could get for a certain price, or how much i could get for a certain price. And after realising that I need to be able to carry it with me, it became a new laptop. A Dell Studio 17" :)
It's Darth Vader-evil looking black!! Well, in my head it is :)

Many thanks to my parents and brother for the financial support of it :)

The night was so long

This post has to be dedicated to Fever Ray. Fever Ray concists of Karin Dreijer Andersson which is half of my favourite music group The Knife and now she just recently came out with a solo album which goes by the name Fever Ray.

It sounds almost exactly like The Knife but maybe a bit slower. But the dark tones and funky beats are still there and the lyrics will just blow you away. The best thing about The Knife and Fever Ray is that its not about the image of the artist, its really more about the music and the art around it. Like their new videos for example. They will probably not be played all the time on MTV but they have a really good artistic value to it which i really respect. Their first video If I had a heart almost doesnt even feature the singer herself, except for a short amount of time where she is wearing tons of make-up to look like a skull. These videos and music inspire me and makes me wanna create create create! Thank YOU Karin Dreijer Andersson!

The pic at the top is an x-ray image of my teeth and jaw that I scanned and made a montage of.

Best artists right now: Fever Ray, Jonathan Johansson, Anna Ternheim and Antony and the Johnssons. Strange enough, all Swedish :D. NOT! Correction from C - Antony and the johnssons are americans! :) What was i thinking?!.. :P

En fjärdedel av mitt liv

It was raining today which I welcomed with open arms and wohoos!

Todays intro to drawing class wasnt so exhilarating unfortunately. We made drawings with pencil and charcoal of big sqaures, pyramids and big white round thingys. It reminded me of that Graphic Design foundation class i had last semester where we only made technical drawings and shading of rectangles, tubes and round thingys. Buuuut i still really like the class and next week we are going to have a model again which is more fun to draw. I dont like to draw those objects, its soo still and flat but i got some good training drawing with charcoal anyway.

Lets see if i can scan some of the stuff i did in class some day. We had some homework due today which i showed to my teacher and then she instantly recognised my Moleskine notebook i use for class and said it was very very good. The notebook i mean. :D

On the Internet, Day 2:

It's amazing. Tonight I had documentary-and-junkfood-night, like every normal person have. Coz noow, as i think i said in the previous post, i can download shit!

I can also google or wikipedia everything that pops in my mind all of a sudden! And believe me, thats a lot of stuff. Speaking of, when i was visiting Caroline, something suddenly popped up in my head; Can Vampires survive on the swedish (?) dish Blodpudding? Blodpudding literally translates to blood pudding but its not really a pudding i think? It consists of pigs blood, flour and a whole lot of other nasty sounding things i dont know how to translate; ( svinblod, mjölk, rågmjöl, späcktärningar, öl eller svagdricka och sirap, och kryddas med lök, kryddpeppar och mejram, according to Wiki.)

So anyway, we have this awesome srevice in Sweden which is called 118 100 where you can ask just about ANYTHING and they will give you a good reply. So we sent a text to them if vampires could survive on blodpudding and this is what they replied:

Vampires can survive [on it], absolutely. Blodpudding contains every nutrition that vampires need, but its not sufficent enough to fulfill the every need of a vampire, which is fresh blood in liquid form, so therefore he can get a little cranky.
Isnt that AWESOME? :D

a ghost in my phone

Internet is back! Hallelulja!

What have I done lately, hmm. Not much actually. Or i have been drawing and painting a lot. I've been going to school which is pretty good, im enjoying my classes.

Yesterday me and gordon moved the grey beast out of our apartment! The grey beast was a big computer desk that the previous person living here had left, and it took so much space in the livingroom so now we actually have a real livingroom, a neat and tidy livingroom.

Oh yeah, yesterday, the 15th of march, it was mine and Carolines 1 month anniversary haha :) just sad that i couldnt be there with her and celebrate it but there should be more anniversarys coming so thats ok. but still!

I've also seen one of the best sit-com shows ever!! The Big Bang Theory! Ive watched the first season and everything thats out from the second season. its so nerdy and fun. It has also been the closest thing to science stuff ive had because the internet havent been up so i havent been able to go on my science sites or download any interesting documentaries, even though they just talk about science-y stuff in the show :D

I've also been playing a lot of xbox 360 because gordon bought Left 4 Dead hehe, which is such a cool zombie-multiplayer-running-around-in-infested-cities-shooting-the-crap-out-of-zombies-kind-of-game :) it's almost got everything you need; zombies, and guns! I think ive wasted at least 6000-10 000 zombies! :D

Yesterday when i went to the gas station close by to recharge my phone, i found a POSTBOX! Wihch is like a minute from here! :D before i didnt know there was one close by so i went to the school or went all the way down on beaufort street (5 min bus ride) to go to the postoffice. Do i feel stupid now ey? ... not really! but i also found a thai restaurant! The Orchid. Im hoping they have "nam prick kapit". It's like a paste u dip or put on ur rice or veggies.

It's hot as hell also, but i think its officially autumn now so soon it should cool down a bit aaaaaand go back to wintertime!! so Sweden-Perth will only have 6 hours of time difference instead of eight as now.

I've been feeling pretty good lately. Except for the heat and the fact that my better half is on the other side of the world things are looking pretty good here.

we are the definition of cute. its true, look it up, page 329.

My life in art

I like my classes :) Well most of them anyway. One is gonna be really hard and that is only because we have to do an presentation. I have Landscape photography, Photo history (which includes taking pictures also), Photo journalism and Introduction to drawing. The intro to drawing was really fun coz we painted with ink, pencil and charcoal. We paint really big also which is kinda new for me.
In other news, I really dislike Telstra. Telstra is like one of the biggest telecompanies in Australia but they still have problems finding our apartment and installing a landline. Two times they have gone to the wrong apartment! TWO TIMES! Now we have booked them for a third time which is ridiculous. They claim that them have come by but even though we had our door open the second time, all day and even though we've had people in the living room where the frontdoor is located they havent showed up, or called us even though they have our number.
Soo, the third time they will either fuck us over again, or show up, will be on Tuesday morning. The reason we are getting a landline btw is because we need it to use internet. Forget "två hål i väggen" over here. Perth is like ten years behind or something.
This week we've had like tons of bugs and disgusting stuff. Cockroaches and other evil things have been lurking around our apartment. It's so nasty but i dont know where they are coming from (only two roaches so its not thaaat big of a deal) but i think they've slipped in through our door or balcony. Coz its really clean in our apartment so i dont think its because it would be dirty.
I wish my better half was here so I could get some comforting hugs, huuu dang this place and dang, i miss her alot.
But its not all bad, errr... i like some people here, the weather isnt that bad, Gordon have a water purifier which purifies the nasty water here so thats good, i like our apartment, its cheaper to get around.. and yeah.. cool stuff :P
