Heroes

Yay! I finished (well almost anyway) my ads. Which is the second part of my assignment for the studio applications for advertising-class (the glassware was the first part).

I started a few days ago with some very rough sketches of the concept, but then i wasnt sure which direction i wanted for the pics so i tried a lot of different taglines for the ads which u can see in the sketches.
After i had done the sketches i went to Toys-R-Us in Morley to find the masks. Unfortunatley they only had really expensive full-set costumes so i thought i had to make my own masks for a while. Until i passed K-mart, good ol trustworthy K-mart. Or something. There i found these supercheap masks which was exactly what i was looking for. So i bought Spider-man, The Hulk, Optimus Prime (transformers) and Batman. I then had to organize the photoshoot and assemble the people; Joshua (batman), Stanley (the hulk), Nicky (spider-(wo)man and Tri (optimus prime).

And then yesterday afternoon (friday) we had the shoot in the business area of the city which had the perfect big-city-super-hero-kinda-feeling to it. On location i tried a few different things with my heroes and tried to find the right meaning for the pics, which eventually came through. Sadly enough, i can only hand in three pictures so unfortunatley The Hulk got left out. But im gonna edit that picture also and show it here eventually.

Started to edit the pics yesterday evening and kept on editing until 4am and then continued today. The ads are for a cinema company called Union Cinemas i made up (short for U.C, get it? :p).

I was actually really lucky with the finished shot coz i had only planned on to shoot in that area and in a bus stop, and some bench. But after first finding the bus stop for the Spider-man shot, which was relatively easy, we then found a little spot for another batman-photo that i havent edited, but turned out really good. We then walked by a building that we went into and asked if we could shoot in the lobby, but we had missed that it was a government building so no photography was allowed in there.

So we had to go out and as we walked down the street i noticed a really good area with some steps coming down and some tall buildings in the background, ideas started to come up in my mind and the perfect location for The hulk was found. Went in to buy a coffee in a café close by to use as a prop and then after i found the right angle we started to shoot. Everybody helped in that shoot by doing different tasks and we had a really good time.

After those pictures were done we found a van just opposite the stairs which was perfect for Optimus Prime to pose infront of. We didnt want to make it look like we were braking into the car so we had to shoot fast and then walk away. On the way from that location we walked by another really awesome lobby. Went in and asked if we could take a few pictures there and i got the above Batman shot from there. And then we were done and went home :)

EDIT: Almost forgot. The pics below are from my third shoot with Adele, who was really good this time also. We went into the city to the business district, the only part of Perth which actually feels like a big city. Stanley helped us this time also, thaanks alot!





EDIT 2: I have bought a new Moleskine notebook. Im on my third now and it feels great, GREAT! I felt like a kid on christmas after i'd bought it and me and some friends were on the train back home from Fremantle earlier this week. I asked Paige:
-maybe i should open it now? should i open it now? *giggling inside like a little schoolgirl*
-err.. yeah you can do that... ..
-maybe..maybe ill wait until i get home heh.. *cant stop thinking about it*

I waited till i got home and opened it by myself. i was in dreamland. The best thing about it, that its twice as big as my previous ones. So now i can make bigger and better drawings and paintings. I have already started on five different things and i have bought watercolour which is really fun, maybe i can posts some next time.

I feel, that i have to share some Moleskinerie with you people. But yes, i know its really not interesting for the uninterested, but considerings this is my blog so :p... here goes:

HOW TO UNWRAP A NEW MOLESKINE:

1. Unwrap the plastic
2. Pull the paper sleeve from the cover
3. Tuck the post card and stamps in the accordion pocket.
4. Kiss the history of Moleskine pamphlet, and reflect how fortunate you are to be using a notebook favored by Hemmingway and Van Gogh
5. Open the notebook, and turn to the middle, or thereabouts
6. Bury your nose between the pages, rooting as closely as possible to the spine.
7. Breath deeply
8. Repeat Step 7 until filled with a sense of well being

Indiana Jones and the kingdom of the confused moviegoer

This photo is from the shoot i had with Paige a few weeks ago. It went pretty good and i got some pretty good pics of her. After my parents shipped my yukata from back home i could finally use it for something useful. So we went down to a little local/pond not far from here and took some pics. I used my old Nissin flash this time which went pretty good. Paige was really good and for this shot i asked her to look furious in a subtle way which i think came out pretty well haha. I dont think the colours come out as good as they are supposed to be when i make it into a jpg and upload it on blogger, but its supposed to be pretty colorful anyway.

Yesterday me and some friend went to see the new Indiana Jones movie. Björn, Cathrine and Marcus pickd me up in their nice pimpmobile (family wagon) and we went off to Morley Galleria to see it. It seems like not many people in Perth actually order tickets when they go to the movies, coz we were almost the only ones who stood in that cue while maybe 20-30 people tood in the other cue for people who hasn't booked a ticket. Anyway, we got our tickets and i could feel the excitement kicking in. I was gonna see Indiana Jones for the first time in my life, in a cinema! Amazing! So we walked towards the ...saloon? (the big frikkin room where they show the movie) :p when i suddenly heard: Sir, excuse me, you have a ticket?

I turned around and saw all my friend laughing and i then understood that i had something to do with it. i had walked right past the ticket guy without even noticing my friends standing in line waiting to get their tickets checked. What a noob i was and what an embarrassment to the Cinema Gods. I showed him the ticket and excused myself, i must have looked really confused but it didn't matter. I was in Indiana Jones-land :)

I had waited to see this for years and now, the moment was here. I had heard some bad reviews of it so back in my mind i tried to keep my expectations down and just hoped for a fun little adventure. But what i got was the complete opposite...

We entered the cinema and it was almost empty, weheeird. But we had great seats, right in the middle. It took almost 20 minutes before they actually started the movie but by then i was still really excited. Actually, I relived my entire childhood of watching the old ones for the first time, i got one of the greatest adventure movies ever! Yes, for me it was that good even though i can see many flaws with it i really liked it and it gave me exactly what i was out to get. Adventure, humor and alot of well executed action scenes by one of my fave directors, mr Spielberg :). Thanks!

Parting words

HERE WE GO!

Jahapp då bar det av till landet down under. Resan kommer att ta ca ett dygn, lyfter från Arlanda på måndag kl 14.35 och kommer fram till Bangkok ca tio timmar senare. Där softar jag lite i två timmar och flyger sedan vidare mot Perth vilket kommer ta sju timmar tills jag ser kängurus och trevliga mördarhajar.

Där kommer jag möta några representanter från ECU som kommer skjutsa mig till Goodheart Hotel där jag kommer bo en natt. Dagen efter det kommer dom från ECU igen och hämtar mig för att åka till skolans campus-område vid Mount Lawley :D.

Förra veckan så gick jag och några kompisar på Transformers! Som var megabra! Det var som att man var åtta år igen, alla i publiken verkade nästan lika imponerade och applåderade flera gånger vilket gav en riktigt bra bioupplevelse. Med på transformers var också en tjej som faktiskt går på den skolan jag ska börja på, hur bra som helst, Karin hette hon och pluggade film där nere. Hon kände Max som också var med. Så vi pratade en hel del vilket lugnade en rätt mycket inför resan. Lyckades även få kontakt med en tjej från USA via Facebook, som börjar den här terminen också fast på journalistik-linjen, känns lite tryggare att känna några pers där nere innan man åkt.

Mitt pass höll på att bli MIA i Tyskland för några dagar sen. Eller det var missing in action enligt posten. Jag skickade det till australiensiska ambassaden för att få en visumstämpel i passet.

Förra veckan kollade jag vart det exakt befann sig och då stod det på postens hemsida att brevetmed passet hade "misslyckats att delas ut" och att det fortfarande är kvar på flygplatsen. SAY WHAT?! Ringer till posten och frågar vad jag ska göra, dom säger att man inte kan göra så mycket förutom att vänta på att det ska skicka tillbaka och sen göra en reklamation. Mailar sedan tanten på ambassaden och frågar om hon kan hämta det innan dom skickar tillbaka det till Sverige, fanns helt enkelt inte tid för få tillbaka det och sen skicka det igen. Anyways, tanten på ambassaden säger att hon inte kan hämta det. GAH!

Dagen efter kollar jag vart brevet var igen och då står det att brevet har blivit utskickat :O. Så jag antar då att det är lugnt. Helgen kommer och går och på måndag ringer vi ambassaden för att fråga tanten vad som händer. Hon säger att hon inte ens har öppnat postsäcken men ska maila så fort hon har brevet i handen. Senare den måndagen kollar jag brevlådan, jag har fått en avi, så jag går till ICA för att hämta vad det nu är jag har fått, tror jag har fått hårddisken jag beställt. Men det var det inte, det var passet?! MED visumet i!! Hur tusan? När tusan?! Allt löser sig ALLTID :)...

Såå, väl där nere kommer jag ha världens sämsta internet, (ADSL med en download limit på 10gb/månad) nästan back to the stoneage! Så jag kommer nog inte kunna uppdatera så ofta men den som väntar på något gott...

Men, synd att jag inte hann träffa vissa innan jag åkte, men jag kommer ju tillbaka vid Jul o då jäklar! Sen har ni som vill alltid gratis boende i Australien också ;)...

Nyligen fick jag en av mina bilder publicerade i ett nytt lifestyle magazine som heter Meg Ritzh. Fick ett ex av tidningen idag, blev hur bra som helst! Tack Meg!



För någon veckor sedan fick jag även ett jobberbjudande som jag tyvärr blev tvungen att tacka nej till. Fick förfrågan att fota maträtter som kökschefen på IBM i Kista skulle ställa upp med på ett kock-em för alla kockar på IBM-kontoren i europa. Jobbet gällde i augusti så det skulle ju inte gå. Jag rekommenderade Nickepicke istället eftersom jag inte kunde, hoppas han får det!

Min första fysiska (andra om man räknar den jag skickade iväg till ECU) portfolio blev klar för inte så längesedan också. Innehåller typ 130 av mina bästa bilder. Whoa O_o. Bland annat dom här:

Har även vart hundvakt i veckan åt Mickes hund Lexus, en grymt duktig collie! Hur kul som helst, nästan som en sorts meditation att gå ut och gå med en hund, eller att bara sitta o klappa den. Jaja, en dag då jävlar blir det en borde collie som ska heta Roxy :D

Jag gjorde ett test som handlade om vilken Batman-skurk man var. Jag blev Jokern! YES!

Har äntligen lärt mig färglägga och skugga hyfsat bra. Det blev en runway modell jag ritade, så sätt på Duran Duran - Girls on Film och ta en titt på "Roxy"..vad annars ;)...

Jag åker d 16e Juli förresten. Flyger med Thai vilket känns väldigt tryggt och bra. Dom är alltid så himla trevliga OCH har asgod flygmat OCH jag får bonus på mitt Eurobonus-kort :D

Ni kommer ihåg dom där videofilmerna från någon japansk tv-show d'är dom spelar pingis och kör stavhopp med hjälp av en massa svartklädda gubbar? Här kommer en ny sån, hur coolt som helst.

Lite för mycket avsked i tv-världen just nu. Lost, Jericho, Heroes och Dexter har alla säsongsuppehåll förutom Jericho som dom la ner pga låga tittarsiffror, precis när den började bli bra :(. Men Lost alltså.. Ingen serie är bättre än Lost, så otroligt bra, så många härliga scener som gör att man nästan börjar lipa. Ja faktiskt! Nästan! Spänning, mysterier, action och humor. Allting. Nästa säsong börjar 2008, suck..

Idag när jag kollade posten såg jag att jag hade fått ett tjockt kuvert från Kilroy Education, tänkte; men va jag kan ju inte redan ha fått svar? Öppnade och såg att det var en bunt papper där det stod att jag hade kommit in! WohoOO!

Så vad nu; Fixa visum, stipendier, försäkringar, flygbiljett.. Oooooohh.. flygbiljett...flyga...flyg...mat...........mat..........flyg..mat....*droool*
